Analysis of magazine cover
This magazine is clearly aimed at a specific type of target audience which i believe to be females, aged 16 - 35 who are specifically interested in fashion. I think this because of the content of the front of the page, such as "300+ high street buys" and "the hottest accessories to update your look". The model on the front (Alexa Chung) is in a black and white, is a medium close up and in a high fashion pose leaning her shoulders inwards and her hands on her hips. This pose if reflecting the theme of the magazine reflecting as also it says on the front which very large, bold font "high street". She seems to be static in this position and it is a very glamorous shot. She is wearing a dress which seems to be made out of metal, which matches the tone of her skin an colour of her hair. The metal could be to suggest the strong powerful nature of the woman and the magazine. Her head is covering one of the L's of the title of the magazine ELLE. This shows the magazine is so well known the editors can afford to risk covering up part of the name and also makes her the full focus of the magazine. The colour of some of the fonts also matches the tones and colours of the model, a sort of monochrome grey, instantly linking to two together. Yet some of the other more bold font is in a very contrasting mint green, to make the cover more exciting and appealing to the eye.
